  • Phil Smith, UK & Ireland CEO of Cisco

    He was appointed as the Chairman of the UK Technology Strategy Board in December 2011 and hailed as one of the nations most influential leaders in the [...]Computer Weekly UKTech50 Awards.

    He has a thirty year track record within the ICT industry, advising leading global organisations in the private and public sector on how to drive transformation, productivity and sustainable growth. Phil accelerated Cisco's external brand and the growth of advanced technologies such as video and virtualisation. Prior to joining Cisco, Phil worked for IBM and Philips Electronics and is an accomplished speaker on a number of topics including ‘the future of the internet', innovation, Web 2.0, sustainability and transformational technology.

    Over the past year, Phil has championed the British Innovation Gateway (BIG) programme in support of driving UK growth through technology entrepreneurship and STEM skills.

    Working with Cisco's Business Units and clients, Ian and his team are focused on developing solutions leveraging the impact of the network as a platform for business transformation across multiple vertical sectors and building architectural blueprints for the delivery of advanced network-based services into these sectors. Most recently Ian has focused on Cisco's British Innovation Gateway initiative and the need for investment in high speed broadband and advanced collaboration technologies as a stimulus for economic growth working with the creative/digital and advanced manufacturing sectors.

    Ian is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and sits on the Assembly of the University of Salford. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered IT Practitioner, a Member of the IET, BCS & IEEE, and is a BCS Certified IS Consultant.

  • Greg Page, Technical Solutions Architect

    Has been working in the I.T. Industry for seventeen years, the last eleven with Cisco Systems in a variety of solution consulting roles specializing in Data [...]Centre architecture and technology in addition to Service Provider security.

    For the past three years he has been focused exclusively on technologies and solutions that help deliver 'Infrastructure as a Service' (IaaS) working with Cisco's partners and customers to help prepare them for the technology and business impacts of IaaS adoption. He is a regular speaker at CiscoLive! and other public events related to 'Cloud' and networking technologies. CISSP no. 77673. Co-author of Cisco Press book 'Cloud Computing: Automating the Virtualized Data Center'.

  • Dave Allen, NetApp Managing Director UK & Ireland

    Dave leads NetApps UK business with single-minded focus on establishing NetApp as the leading UK storage vendor by 2012. [...]Dave is responsible for planning business strategy and overseeing its delivery to ensure outstanding sales performance and customer satisfaction. Formerly NetApp's Sales Operations Director, Dave has significant expertise in supporting field sales teams, enabling customer breakthroughs and ensuring compliance in business operations. Dave holds a Masters in Electronic Engineering and outside of work enjoys weight training, winter sports and the latest gadgets.

  • Joe Baguley, VMware's Chief Cloud Technologist in EMEA

    Joe Baguley is VMware's Chief Cloud Technologist in EMEA, taking up the newly-created position in July 2011. [...]He helps develop and communicate VMware's strategy with customers and partners, using his wealth of experience to help organisations reduce costs and better support users and business needs. As part of VMware's Office of the CTO, Joe assists VMware's customers in understanding how to use cloud technologies to deliver real business impact as well as working with them to inform VMware's R&D processes. Joe is a recognised leader within the European cloud community and a renowned conference speaker. He has played a key role in Cloud Camp and other events, communicating how cloud technology fits into the broader IT landscape. Joe previously spent ten years at Quest Software where he was CTO of EMEA, shaping its direction and strategy. In addition, Joe is also on the Industry Expert Group at SIENA and is a founding committee member of the Data Centre Specialist Group at the British Computer Society which helped shape the European Code Of Conduct for Data Centres. Joe is based in the UK but his remit is across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Charity Bike ride

And to join in the spirit of things, fifteen ANS staff members, including Chairman Scott Fletcher and MD Paul Sweeney, will be performing a sponsored bike ride from Manchester to London in the build up to the event in an attempt to raise £10,000 for the charity in the process.
